Still loving working at night. It's still, quiet; productive. No flitting shadows or absences to think about.

In the still and the tick-tocks of the past 2 hours I've heard at least 10 sirens. No kidding. And there may be more; I didn't count. On one hand it's comforting to know that civil defence is up and kicking, but on the other, it's just plain scary imagining the possible crimes, fires, violence, medical relapses, lust, greed, rage and malice that go on in the same dead stillness of the night. The silence...

Been way too serious over the past two weeks. Need to get a lighter grip on things and learn to laugh. After all those plays I was made to watch for my drama module, Mary Poppins seemed ridiculous. And cloyingly sweet. But, at the same time I found it uplifting and purposeful, and the fact dawned on me that I've become a cranky old sop over the course of the semester. For all its disturbing sweetness, Mary Poppins seriously really spoke to me. Or sang.

COME BACK YE OLDE RANDOMNESS. -attempts to smile like hoops and yoyo-

If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, even there Your hand will guide me,
Your right hand will hold me fast.
