Because I've got a 1001 things to post about - the last two weeks being Weeks 9 & 10 of term and hence being filled with countless activities - I shall attempt to space it out by clustering events together and posting as separately as possible. There's gonna be an inevitable long long post somewhere soooooo............. yeah. Will include many many pictures yo!
Just came back from London and am taking a good proper break here. Can watch the films I've been shelving for too long, read the books I 'bulk' ordered from Amazon, and finally make an appearance on MSN and catch up with peeps from Singapore (miss you all!). London. Was. AWESOME! Shall post about it tomorrow or sth. Ah!
Huanghuang gave me the i-love-you piglet above as a birthday present in advance. Sweet of her. :)
Anyways here are pictures from the fund-raising dessert party. Had a party of cakes and bakes to raise funds for my trip to Tanzania (well, part of it) and to bring a gift token to Faith when I see her. Everyone's so chao on about it and I'm so thankful for their heart and enthusiasm! Ailin (i heart you), Kevin and Nagisa have been absolute darlings for working their heart out with me in the preparations and baking, which took about 11 hours or more over 2 days. The array included: tiramisu, coffee mocha cake, blueberry and chocolate chip muffins, brownies, carrot cakes, blueberry soured cream & cheese cake, apple crumble, nutella cinammon hazelnut cake...... can't remember if there're anymore really! But there was so much leftover that (courtesy of Shaun's ingenuity) we went door-to-door in Halifax to take free will donations for however much cake they wanted. Jake, Shaun, Han Ying, Nagisa and Shiao En volunteered themselves (*so touched*) and we went in 2 separate teams. We finished about 11ish, 12am?
About 20 people turned up. And by God's infinite infinite grace, we raised £400. Amazing, hallelujah! And thanks all you guys!
Had another Singaporean food party for non-Singsoc and non-YCCF people at 97 Lawrence Street, but that didn't work out too well because I had decided on it impulsively and really last minute (in other words, whimsically rather than prayerfully) so people had alot on that night already. Ailin, Kevin and Howard helped me out a lot; once again I was incredibly thankful for these angels for forking out all this time and effort when they didn't stand to benefit from it in any way. ahhh. wuv. Anyways, raised £47 for this one.
So in total, we've got £447! WHOA!
And here are pictures from the dessert party:
